A true leader is one who can bring out the best in a person.

  1. Start with what you know. Then, work additively after that — working and resolving bits and pieces methodically as you go.
  2. Try to solve the hard problems first as opposed to the easier things, knowing that you will move further along the road as a result.
  3. Always check your work and the work of others. Don’t rely on someone else.
  4. Finish what you start. Don’t allow unfinished work to haunt you later down the road.
  5. Learn to keep an eye on the big picture. Don’t allow short term thinking to create long-term problems. Consider how we might be perceived by outside entities; i.e. Are we doing things in a timely manner? Have we taken too long to start someone’s project? Are we taking too long to finish an assignment? Have we been working at getting a jump on things to help us get a better jump on accomplishing tasks later down the road?
  6. Don’t let sloppy or incorrect work go out the door.
  7. Don’t let outside entities adversely affect the quality of product that we create.
  8. Do the most you can do instead of the least that you can do.
  9. Think architecturally, and move beyond the computer draftsperson mentality. Continually work at developing design skills, methods, and approaches so that the work can reach excellence.
  10. Incorporate overlay methods into your work routine. Check drawings against other drawings, check for items that may affect the work that is in progress.
  11. Constantly strive to increase your value to the company.
  12. Go above and beyond what is thought to be expected.
  13. Don’t work to late into the night, and always get plenty of sleep. Do more at the beginning of an assignment instead of leaving work until the end.
  14. Don’t put things off to the last second, but rather design and devise a way of methodically working toward the end result.
  15. Take the assignment as far as possible, and make every effort not to leave mistakes, inaccuracies, or work left undone that could have been accomplished with a little more thought or effort.
  16. Listen carefully to instructions. Ask questions, take notes, and try to visualize the intended results at the time the instructions are given. Avoid causing someone to unnecessarily repeat instructions at a later time. Once instructions are understood, make an effort to incrementally work toward completing the project, keeping the project in the back of your mind even when concentrating on something else.
  17. Don’t get stuck working only on one project at a time. Organize your work so that more than one project can progress at a time.
  18. Visualize the end result. If you don’t know what it will look like when you are done, then how will you know how to develop a plan for how to get there?
  19. Perform! Good intentions aren’t good enough.

04

We are driven by passionate people. People who love what they do and want more of it. We thrive with talented, motivated, high-energy employees.

While we embrace the computer, we rely on old fashioned, tried and true procedures. Overlay starting with what you know. Checking plans, compositions, etc.

Overall, we believe that a creative group needs to know how to obey and ignore the rules simultaneously to succeed. Being really cool helps too.
